It may seem crazy, but it’s true, Australia does in fact get snow! Who would have thought that you could plan some vacation packages to Australia for skiing? Skiing in Australia occurs in different months than you would find in North America. Skiing normally happens between June and August, so the window to planning an Australia vacation package is not a big one.

There are several resorts which offer skiing, snowboarding, and other winter activities. Just like any regular ski resorts they have chalets, lifts, and huge ski trails.

Choosing an Australia vacation package during these months will cost you less than going during peak summer months. However, your package could cost you a little less. If you aren’t travelling during peak months then airfare itself will cost you a lot less. Airlines, travel agents and resorts make most of their profit off of tourists who plan vacations in peak seasons. This in return allows them to give great Australia vacation package deals to those who prefer to travel when everyone else is busy.

Here’s a small list of resorts that you can visit during the winter in Australia:

4. Selwyn – This is the oldest ski area in Australia. This is where the first skis were put on. This resort offers all types of snow sports and is great for beginners. The ski slops are located near Cabramurra, which is Australia’s highest town.

There are several other resorts, but the above mentioned are probably the most popular. A lot of people plan their Christmas vacations to get away from the cold and snow of North America. We pack up our bags and do nothing but dream of the warm and wonderful weather that awaits us.

Why not get the best of both worlds while you’re in Australia? An Australia vacation package has several options. If you like, you could go ahead and plan a week on the slopes, enjoying some snowboarding and then a nice hot chocolate by a warm fire. Then head to the nearest beach and enjoy the amazing warm sun, and do a little surfing. Doing so many activities in one place has never been easier.
