A Romantic Christmas Themed Bedroom

Article by Linda Aviles

Wake up to a room full of holiday cheer with the perfect Christmas Themed Bedroom. If you are far from being the old Grinch or Scrooge, than this is the perfect bedroom theme for you. Christmas is the celebration of the birth of Jesus and the perfect time to bring families and friends closer together. Creating a Christmas Themed bedroom doesn’t have to be tacky and can actually look pretty romantic and even bring you and your partner closer together. Many people would love to decorate the bedroom for Christmas but are too afraid of the room looking too “Christmasy”. Your bedroom doesn’t have to look so tacky if you choose the right color scheme and room decor.

The bed is considered the main focal point because it is usually the largest piece in the room. We can easily purchase a Christmas themed duvet cover or comforter set but it can look pretty tacky and not romantic at all. Choose solid colors instead. Gold, red, green and white are the perfect choices. All four colors can be used together to create the perfect scenery. For example, if you choose a green duvet or comforter set for your bed than throw in 4 or 5 small solid color pillows with the other colors mentioned previously or mix up solid colors with small Christmas themed pillows. Wrap red ribbons onto the solid color pillows as if they were Christmas Gifts. Decorative ribbons can also be used to tie back window curtains. You can also align your window frames with swags of garlands.

Add a medium size Christmas tree in the corner of the room. Decorated with just white Christmas lights. Place under the tree private gifts for your partner and yourself. Make sure to place the gifts under the tree after your kids have gone off to bed. Also, place red, green, gold color and scented candles next to the bed. Cinnamon scented candles has “A greater effect than all other perfumes,” says Dr. Hirsch of one of his scent studies that involved 100 men. Another favorite is Vanilla. It’s soothing, comforting and oh-so-sweet. Follow these easy steps and you will have a bedroom full of holiday cheer and love.

The luxury duvet covers and the luxury bedspreads from Bedroom Duvet Spot are perfect for this holiday season. At Bedroom Duvet Spot you will find a large selection of duvet cover sets at the lowest prices around.

Traditional Christmas City Breaks

Article by Isla Campell

Many cities take on a different character and really come alive over the Christmas period. Even places you might be very familiar with throughout the rest of the year can be transformed into winter wonderlands that make them well worth the return trip. While some peoples’ ideas of a Christmas getaway are mainly about escaping the cold weather of home and visiting destinations like the Caribbean or the Maldives, you could find your holiday spirit is greatly enriched by travelling to places where a white Christmas may be on the cards. That doesn’t have to mean staying closer to home either, with great festive destinations around the world beckoning travellers with authentic Christmas markets and unique holiday activities.

If you’re looking for somewhere to truly lose yourself in the Christmas magic, consider visiting Prague in December. A great deal of effort is made to transform the city’s Old Town into a bustling square of markets and yuletide attractions, where there’s something to please people of all ages. To get the most out of your Prague city break and experience the season like a local, tuck into some Trdelnik pastry and enjoy a shot of spicy Becherovka liquor. It’s not only historic cities that can be ideal for Christmas breaks either, and the North American continent is home to a great many places that really throw themselves into the festivities. You may think of New York more as a place to get some Christmas shopping done than to enjoy festive city breaks, but the Big Apple has plenty to offer visitors during the season – from skiing in Central Park to strolling past the colourful window displays of Macy’s.

The further north you travel, the greater your chances of a white Christmas, making destinations like Quebec City in Canada particularly popular during the winter. Despite being a large, modern city, Quebec City still has a cosy atmosphere, enhanced by its narrow, snow-dusted lanes and abundance of hand-made crafts sold at Christmas markets such as the famous Marche de Noel.Even if you’d prefer to stay closer to home, the UK holds its own with excellent Christmas destinations too, whether you prefer the seclusion of a country house hotel for a family Christmas to remember or you’re eager to get caught up in the bustling atmosphere of cities like London and Manchester. Those booking their Christmas breaks are always encouraged to do so well ahead of time, as the most popular accommodation is sure to sell out fast over Christmas and New Year.

The perfect Christmas Dinner as an alternative to the usual Turkey

Article by Dean Gammell

The average person will gain 5 pounds during the Christmas period. These estimates might be cause for alarm to some people but they also pass off as normal to other people. Most people relish roast potatoes, chocolates, mulled wine and some mince pies. What with the December cold urging you to eat to your fill and stay warm. One of the highlights of the festive season happens to be the Christmas dinner. During this time, families will get together; celebrate the special season over a feast and later on exchange gifts. The traditional Christmas dinner is composed of brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce and Turkey. The traditional Christmas dinner tends to have foods that most of us steer clear off throughout the year. What exactly happens if the Christmas dinner doesn’t really have your sleigh bells ringing? Not to worry as there are several other alternatives that can help you start off an entirely new tradition. You have all the right to have something exciting at the Christmas dinner table. Here are a few ideas about some non-traditional Christmas gifts. If you really want to have a different Christmas dinner, then you can opt to have the easiest way out which entails getting away and letting someone else do the cooking.

A little holiday would offer you a perfect chance for you to spoil yourself. This will give you a chance to be pampered this holiday. You might not have such a healthy bank balance as to allow for a month’s getaway in the Maldives or even a fortnight in the worlds love capital- Paris, but you can still opt for a hotel and theatre experience for two days. Such might just have you staying away till the Boxing Day is over. One of the best gifts for Christmas is the experience days. These make for some very fantastic personal treats too. If doing a disappearing act during Christmas and spending it apart from your family doesn’t go down well with you, you can take the alternative which involves staying over at a relative’s crib. You can also opt to have someone do the cooking for you by extending them a special invitation after which you can have a nice and lovely evening with them in front of the TV. Should you have someone who doesn’t have the culinary experience that you consider satisfactory suddenly showing up at your front door, you can have a hamper for a carnival picnic shoved their way or a basket full of fruits. This will help you appear quite accommodating while hiding away your real intentions for the gesture. Talk of killing two birds with a single stone.

Making preparations for a family Christmas dinner that will serve several mouths to their satisfaction is actually not a mean task. It therefore goes without asking why the kitchen assumes the scene of a crash land by Santa and his entourage. A cookery demo intended for two will come in handy if you really want to know how to organize yourself during such an undertaking. Invest in some recipes of time gone by or just have an organic Christmas dinner as opposed to those self indulgent and materialistic dinners that we are all used to.

Enough Stuffed Turkey For Christmas Dinner- Alternatives To The Traditional Christmas Dinner

Article by Dean Gammell

The festive season is characterized by expanded waistlines due to the indulgence that goes on unabated. The average person will gain in excess of 5lbs over this period. A few of us might really be surprised about the whole waistline expansion thing while others find the roast potatoes, chocolates, mulled wine and mince pies too delicious to care about putting on the pounds. The cold weather during Christmas also plays a very big part in ensuring that we put on the pounds due to the simple fact that our bodies need energy to stay warm which translates to more eating. One of the highlights of Christmas has to be the traditional Christmas feast and especially the stuffed turkey and Mullen wine. Families gather for the Christmas festivities and end up swapping gifts for Christmas as they indulge in brussel sprouts, cranberry sauce and the roast turkey. This is also a time that most of us let our guard down and indulge in just about anything that comes our way. They say a rest is as good as a change, there are some of us who would like to experience a different Christmas altogether especially in terms of the culinary department. Since it is a free world, you have the liberty of treating yourself to some new Christmas culinary delights instead of the usual traditional ones. Who knows, you might as well start your own Christmas tradition. One of the easiest ways to get this done is to let someone take over the cooking business on that fateful day. Christmas holidays make for some of the most splendid ways of spending Christmas.

There are package gifts that are ideal as gifts for her while others are best suited as Christmas gifts for him. Such a treat will see to it that you get someone entirely different to do all the pampering for you. Mums will also find such a gift package quite ideal since they are the ones charged with preparations for the Christmas dinner while everyone else gets to enjoy some beer or gifts.A Christmas holiday might be anything from a night in a local suite to a fortnight in the Maldives. It will all depend on the bank balance that one has. One of the best gift packages that fall under this is the ‘hotel and theatre for two’ experience. Another great option to avert the usual traditional Christmas dinner is to spend the day at a relative’s instead of your place.

In this way, you get to relax a little since the responsibility of entertaining the guests will be on someone else. One of the hardest aspects of the traditional Christmas dinner is the fact that you have to feed lots of people at a go. The food is in huge quantities and it has to be done to perfection. If he happens to be interested in cooking, you can always get him a ‘cookery demonstration for two’ which has been rated severally as one of the best Christmas gifts for him especially if he loves cooking. A recipe book is also one of the best gifts for her if you want to do away with the traditional Christmas dinner.
